Weather

Weather at this time of year should be low of 60-65 degrees F at night, and highs of 75-80 degrees F. It can be breezy to windy by the water and cooler at higher altitudes.

Style is generally coastal semi-casual to casual (think Martha’s Vineyard, Cape Cod, Newport RI, etc.). You will not need anything too fancy or any layers that are too heavy.

It will be the beginning of the off-season there, and in addition to meaning that it shouldn’t be insanely crowded, it also means there are a lot of sales. I was there (2023) a couple of weeks later than we will be going and bought light weight sweaters for 20 EUR and summer dresses for 20 EUR. I paired them together as layers when I was there, and they were great. Remember you can do laundry at the villa if you need or want to.

I’d suggest packing one swimsuit, one dresses, one light layer sweater, one set of yoga clothes and underwear in your carry on in case your checked suitcase does not arrive. If you want to only arrive with carry-ons, I can assure you I did that and then bought a great suitcase to check on the way home for EUR 50.

Suggested packing: Let’s get to the important stuff!

1 Pair of white jeans or light-colored pants

Light layers (cotton sweaters, tanks, scarf, etc.) in complementary colors to mix and match

Medium weight sweatshirt or sweater

Yoga pants and top(s) – can double for hanging out in the evening

Skirts/dresses that work well with your other layers and shoes

Bring (or buy!) a flowy dress or skirt - something that photographs well - in case you want to do a little photo shoot somewhere, or we decide to do one as a group. Colors other than blue work well for this, because we plan to have blue skies and blue water while we are there!

Sneakers/tennis shoes/running shoes (1-2 pairs)

Sandals and/or nice tennis shoes for walking that also look good with dresses/skirts (people walk a lot and have stylish but very practical shoes).

Flip flops or something to wear to/at the beach/to the pool

2 swimsuits, coverups

Long sleeve/long pants pajamas (unless you run really warm)

Be comfy, be stylish, be you! This is your trip!

Voltage Warning!

Do not bring blow dryers (we have them at the house)

Only bring flat/curling irons that you know are dual voltage. A converter will not work on a single voltage apparatus, it’ll just blow up the first time you plug it in. Double check that yours has built in compatibility with European voltage.

You’ll want to snag some converters for your phone and any plug in electronics - it’ll be much cheaper if you get them on Amazon ahead of time, but of course, you can also get there once there if you need to.

Layers, layers, layers. And really light ones you can stuff in your bag!

It was really hot. I had this white tank and navy shorts, but also a wrap for in the shade.

I bought this red spaghetti strap dress and pink light sweater for 20 Euros each a the market in Cannes.

I had a tank under this short sleeve cashmere sweater. You may not need something that warm but if you run cold, maybe. It was convenient. And the white jeans I wore in the evenings.

Bought this dress at a sidewalk sale in Juan-les-Pins for 20 Euros. I was on and off with that cardigan depending on if I was in the sun or shade. We had every kind of weather when I was there! It should be more summery when we go in 2024!
