French Riviera 2024 Retreat FAQs

This trip is for adults only. Couples, friends, and and solo travelers are all welcomed!

You’ll want to fly into Nice-Cote d’Azur (NCE) - or if you’re traveling around, take the train to Nice or Antibes. If you’re flying to Europe from the US or anywhere else outside of the European Union, and have a connection to Nice, be sure to have at least an hour and a half layover (2 is a better bet) because you will have to go through passport control wherever you land.
I really advise against connecting in Madrid. I had a very bad experience doing so in 2023 when going to Portugal.
You may have to go through passport control at airports in Europe more times than you’d think, so be sure there is enough time on connections in both directions. Your bags will check directly through to Nice.

That’s OK! I am fluent in French, have lived in the area, and have you covered. If you are off on your own for some free time, you will be able to manage just fine as this area thrives on tourism and most people speak some English.

The Euro. Your best bet will be to use a credit or debit card that does not take out foreign transaction fees. For markets or small purchases, you will need some cash, but can take it out at the ATM in any town we visit, or the Nice airport.

Once you book your flights to Nice-Cote d’Azur airport, please let me know your itinerary. We have shuttle transportation for the Nice airport to take you to our villa in Cap d’Antibes on Saturday, Sept. 28 and Saturday, Sept. Oct 5.

Bread, meat and dairy are staples of French gastronomy. That said, the chef who is preparing 3 meals for us at the villa can accommodate special needs. For meals out, I cannot guarantee you will be able to eat gluten free carbs, or vegan meals, but can help you research some options. You will also have access to our full kitchen at the villa and can prepare meals there to eat at the villa or take on the go.

Participation in morning yoga is encouraged to help you center yourself and make the most of each day, but is optional.
Please let me know ahead of time if you decide not to participate in a day trip or group meals (included or not included) as I will need to make it possible for you to gain access to the villa, and make other arrangements.
There is no reimbursement for non-participation in activities listed as “included” and any replacement to these activities is at your own expense. Thank you for understanding.
